Every year we declared higher dividends than we promised.
What is the EagleDividend System?
This is a unique system. Each policyholder has a separate investment account to which regular premiums are credited and from which necessary charges are deducted. (E.g. for life cover, etc.)
This fund enhances with your regular premium deposits and accumulates with compounding effect at an annually declared dividend rate, net of charges.
How are EagleDividends calculated?
EagleDividends are calculated on the basis of total investment income earned on the Life Fund. The dividend is guaranteed to be at least 90% of the distributable income arising from the proportion of the Company’s Life Fund attributable to the investment account as decided by the Company’s Actuary.
This ensures that our policyholders directly benefit from our prudent investment strategy. The total Life Fund Is invested by following a cautious and diligent policy of sound fund management.
This has consistently ensured a higher dividend – although the dividend rate is dependent upon the yield earned by the Life Find which is influenced by the conditions in the capital market.

How do we safeguard our Life Fund?
•
Actuarial
Valuations
An independent Actuary conducts an annual valuation of the
Life Fund and determines that the Company has adequate resources
to meet liabilities of the business.
The valuation conforms to regulations specified by the insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL) – the regulatory body established by the Government to supervise the insurance industry.
•
Application of high solvency margin levels
Eagle maintains a solvency margin that is above the standard specified by the local regulatory body. This demonstrates the amount of assets the Company has in excess of the required level needed to meet the total liabilities of Life Polyholders, and is an indication of our financial strength.
