| Eagle records a 17% growth in revenues in the 1st half of 2006 - 14 August 2006 |
| August 15, Colombo: Eagle reported consolidated revenue of Rs 2,201 million, a 17% increase over the corresponding period of 2005. Total gross written premium income grew to Rs. 2,084 million, an increase of 18%. Non-life gross written premiums grew by 19% and Life gross written premiums grew by 18%. |

| Eagle Insurance recorded an impressive performance for the year 2005, recording a group net profit after tax of rupees 515 million, a growth of 103% over 2004. Even if 2004 profits are adjusted for special tsunami related expenses, the profit growth is still attractive at 50%. The consolidated balance sheet was further strengthened with Net Assets recording a growth of 36 % over the previous year. |
