1) What is covered under a comprehensive insurance?
Comprehensive Policy covers the following perils.
Accidental damage to the vehicle.
Fire explosion and self-ignition.
Malicious damage to the vehicle.
Windscreen damage due to an accident
Third Party Property damage within specified limit.
Third Party bodily injury – Any amount the insured is legally liable to pay.

Additional perils can be obtained such as Strike, Riot, Civil Commotion, Terrorism, Flood, Personal Accident Benefit etc. by paying an additional Premium.

2) If I buy a vehicle for a sum of Rs.1, 200,000/= but I want to insure it for Rs. 600,000/= what will the premium be?
The premium will be calculated according to your requirement. But the estimated value should always be the current market value, therefore if you insure it for Rs.600,000/= and in the event of an accident you can claim only up to 50% of the cost of the claim, because you have insured only 50% of the value.

3) I have bought a car from Mr. X and he gives me his insurance policy. Can I use his insurance to cover any losses/ damages / liability that may arise when I use this vehicle?
When Mr. X sold his vehicle, his recognized ownership ceases. Therefore this policy becomes invalid. To make a claim the policy has to be in your name.

4) My vehicle has met with an accident. How do I get about making a claim? Can I repair it and send the bills for payment?
Please note the procedure to be followed in order to claim from your policy is as follows:
Inform the police and Eagle Insurance.
Obtain the police report & claim form respectively.
Submit the estimate obtained from a approved garage along with the completed claim form.
You cannot commence the repair until one of our insurance assessors inspects your vehicle and approves the estimate.

5) If my vehicle is on lease contract, is it possible to obtain a third party insurance cover?
No, if your vehicle is subject to the following, you cannot take third party cover:
On lease contract.
A person or an institution having any financial interest on your vehicle.

Only a comprehensive insurance cover can be obtain in such an instance.
My vehicle is on lease contract and is insured with you.

6) If I request to reduce the value, delete SRCC(Strike, Riot and Civil Commotion) and Terrorism cover - is it possible?
As the Policy is assigned to a leasing company we need the leasing company's written approval to delete these covers. (The current value should be the market value.)

7) If the vehicle belongs to a friend and he is using it, is it possible to take an insurance cover in my name?
You should be the legal owner or should have recognized ownership on this vehicle. If you do not have any of these, you cannot obtain an insurance policy in your name.

8) I have a private car, which is insured with your company. Can my son who has driving license drive my car?
Yes, any licensed driver can drive your vehicle with your permission.
